Subject: I am "Principled": You are Not--the Great Debate
Kelfalla:
These scenarios, and or analysis provoke thought about the present Sierra Leone elections debate on one hand, and the nature of man himself on another given the needs as various as they maybe, we all stand to long for.
My two-koppo on this one would be to continue to cherish the scenerios as developed for understanding while calling for tolerance in how we dispose of others' opinion. From the tone of your argument, I would think that you have come to some gripe with the reality of positions propagated by other contributors in this forum. Therefore, in a situation when scarcity and demands far outweigh each other in a mutually exclusive fashion, it is natural that man will continue toseek that which maximizes his/her interests.
This by no means should stand to undermine ones given situation and the need to manipulate such a situation to ones ultimate compulsion and the ultimate fulfillment of that need in as much as it is done so without heightened provocation that would otherwise reduce an opponent's view to nothingness. But again, this will place on us all an undue burden of responsibility which is to resort to moderation that carries with it the possibilities of not allowing us all to achieve or take a turn at the tennis court. As it is apparent in your writing, this is where we must exercise judgment because the tennis court itself is a nation and the needs of a nation do not necessarily level that of the individual from whom the nation is composed of.
What then should be the role of the individual in a nation such as Sierra Leone
at this time ..?
